In plain words
We do not need posts. We need work. So when you enter into the work of today, the post will come to you of its own accord. We must keep two things clearly in view. We fight for Rights. What about responsibility. Right and responsibility are two, like the two eyes. Like two wheels, two wings: if either one is missing we can neither fly nor walk. If we carry out our responsibility properly, the right comes to us of itself. So we must carry out our duty. That itself is true yoga. Whether anyone sees it or not, your own mind must be satisfied. Your own mind must stand as your sākṣī. In Tamil they say:
For the mind, we ourselves are the sākṣī; for the body, its quality is the sākṣī; for everything, Swami is the sākṣī.
So our own mind must be our sākṣī. Our mind must have the satisfaction that we have done well. That is satisfaction. If that self satisfaction is to come, there must be self confidence. First. From self confidence alone comes self satisfaction. From Self satisfaction alone comes self sacrifice. From Self sacrifice alone comes self realisation. There is no Self satisfaction. There is no Confidence, there is no sacrifice. How will Realisation come within reach? Under the sway of this Kali age, we do not want to spend a coin. We do not want to bend our backs and work. We do not want to set foot across the threshold, and Kaivalya should drop from the sling into our lap. So lazy are we. This is sheer laziness. If we drive away laziness, the principle of So'ham comes to us. So we must drive away laziness. As long as there is a body we must toil and work. Our right is to action alone. All our right is in action. You must think that you serve so that your own life is fulfilled. I bring My discourse to a close, blessing you and hoping that you will make your life worthwhile with such sacred Prema and with sacred actions. However much service you do, make your time worthwhile through the remembrance of the Name.
