In plain words

Serve with humility

Humility is essential for those who serve. We must satisfy people with good words. Only then does breadth of mind develop. We must make it broad. However long it goes on, if we keep doing it narrowly, narrowly, like this, when will we ever reach fullness? Fullness must come. The years are passing by. But the fullness in us is dwindling. We must increase our breadth. From the place called oneself and one's family, we must enter into what is called society. But unfortunately, though man today has five sheaths, called annamaya, prāṇamaya, manomaya, vijñānamaya and ānandamaya, his journey goes only as far as the annamaya, the body, and the prāṇamaya. Only a few go as far as the manomaya. No one enters the vijñānamaya. Then how will Ānanda come to us? What does vijñāna mean? We must enter into the enquiry into what is eternal and what is not. The body is made of the five elements. We must find the indweller who lives in such a body.

Embodiments of Prema!

A hovel of filth, a servant's basket wasting with disease, born to be stirred about, a tuber, a thornbush that cannot cross the sea of worldly life, a quiver of arrows: rise and see! However fondly the mind may think of it, this body, do not trust it to stand firm, O mind; take refuge at the feet of Hari.

Because there is such divinity within humanness, we must use sacred time well. Service is most necessary. Today we go by the name of servants, but we are not serving properly. Today people come forward for power. They fall back from practice. They come forward for posts. They keep away from work. Ready for food, off from work. We must be ready for work. We must be off from food.
