In plain words

O mind! Take up nothing, neither this nor that. So she sent her mind to the point between the eyebrows. She became still. At once she merged in Kṛṣṇa. Because she had this deep faith. Because she never let go of the remembrance of the Name, this sacred state came to Mīrā, though she suffered so many troubles.

So we must develop unbroken faith, the principle of perfect Prema, and a feeling that is steady and free of doubt. Ours is all a dummy dance: one way in the morning, another way in the evening. There is no balance. If we go on playacting like this, how will God come within our reach? This two horserace is a great danger. Ride one horse only. But if you sit on two horses, one goes this way, the other goes that way. In between, you will be killed. So we must keep calling on God with a single faith. To grant that kind of steadiness: that is the inner purpose of prescribing a prayer, the Suprabhātam, the Oṃkāra and all such things in our college. If, without understanding this, you think, “Why these rules, why these restrictions, why this discipline?”, that is sheer foolishness. Well then, if they do not make proper sense to you, you may leave. There is no harm in that. No one will harass anyone. If you come here of your own accord and then go against your own consent, you will be one who has betrayed yourself. You must not be a traitor to yourself. You must not destroy yourself.

Inquire into your own heart. You must not worry in the least about others. Do not give room to the pride and possessiveness that ask what people will think. Only when you place all your pride and attachment on God and live in the feeling, “I know of none but You; I have no one else but You,” will all learning come to us: worldly learning, spiritual learning, scientific learning, every kind.

Prahlāda too was learned. He too was a student. But whatever his teachers said, whatever his father said, he would not accept a word against God. Even if it is your father, when he speaks against God, disobey your father’s command, he said. Even if it is your husband, when he teaches against God, give up even your husband, as Mīrā did, he said. Even if it is your father, reject him as Prahlāda did, he said. Even if it is your mother, when she teaches against God, reject her just as Bharata rejected Kaikeyī, he said.
