Passage 1

In plain words

All faiths point to Him alone; all images are His forms; since He Himself is present everywhere, that is the very state of Brahman. Open your eyes and see, brother, this Sāī Deva: look where you will, He is there, brother. It is only a name, that He was in Shirdi before and is in Parthi now; He moves in the very eyes of the devotees who contemplate Him, brother. Open your eyes and see, brother!

Whatever a man may wish to achieve, he must depend on Prakṛti. Prakṛti is nobody's property. It is the property of Paramātma. Without Paramātma's permission, no one at all can enjoy this Prakṛti. People who cannot recognise this Satya set about certain undertakings in Prakṛti out of Ahaṅkāra, sure that they can achieve them. This is a sheer mistake. Without God's command and without God's consent, man cannot achieve anything at all in the world. The Rāmāyaṇa is a fine example of this. Rāvaṇa had great power of tapas. He had learned every branch of learning. He was a supreme devotee. Even so, he worshipped Prakṛti and kept forgetting Śrī Rāmacandra, who is Paramātma. He desired only Sītā, the very form of Prakṛti, and could not desire Rāma, the Lord of Sītā. To win her he made efforts of many kinds. What end did he come to at last? Rāvaṇa forgot Paramātma, desired Prakṛti, leaned on human strength and, relying on his own intellect, set out to win Prakṛti: what became of him? Not only did he himself fall; he brought down his clan and his kingdom too.

Here, our body is Prakṛti, and the life-breath is Paramātma. Is there anyone in this world mad enough to forget the life-breath and think the body is what matters? Without the life-breath, who can honour this body? Who can love it? Who can enjoy it? Suppose he does believe that all the powers in this body are his chief support: when some limb of his body fails, is he able to set it right? If this body called Prakṛti were really under his control, would he not be able to repair these limbs himself? No, no. That is impossible. God alone is the support of everything.
