In plain words
Then, the ears make us hear. People say, "We hear sounds." No, no. It is when this Prajñā enters through the working of the inner instrument that these ears can hear good and bad sounds. So for everything, Prajñā alone is the chief thing. Here the Ātma is the very union of these three: speech, mind and life-breath. Speech is made of radiance. The mind is made of food. The life-breath is made of rasa, the essence. This radiance, which is speech, is the root cause of turning what is made of mind into what is made of life-breath. It is this speech, too, that keeps turning the mind, which is made of food, into rasa. This is what the Upaniṣads called raso vai saḥ. The Paramātma is the very embodiment of this rasa. Not only this. They called Him Aṅgīrasaḥ. The Ātma is that which is everywhere within our limbs and is the embodiment of rasa in each limb. So to recognise such a divine principle we need no sādhanas of many kinds. If we enquire well into every matter we experience in our natural life, in the everyday world, this principle of the Ātma becomes easy.
Hetu is a name of God. What does Hetu mean? In the whole of creation, He Himself is both the material cause and the efficient cause. It is because He is the cause of both that they called Him Hetu. Viccharuḍu is another name of His. That is, every object that arises in the world wastes away. It changes. However much things waste away, however many changes they go through, no wasting is known in God. No change comes to Him. Not only this. God's principle of Prema remains unbroken. It is neither something that shrinks nor something that grows.
What is born within a moment and within a moment grows is never Prema. What has neither death nor birth, in the heart of a being shines as the eternal, spotless flame: that is Prema.
All our loves of today are born in a moment. In a moment they die. But the Prema of God is not like that. It has no birth, no death. Prema alone is His form. Prema alone is His nature. Nothing is added to it, nothing is taken from it, nothing grows in it. What shines as the eternal, spotless flame in the heart of the embodied one, who has both death and birth, is the principle of Prema. God's nature is to give unbroken Prema to all others. That is why people have been calling Him "Oṃ Viccharāya namaḥ". That is, the Prema of God goes on being given equally to everyone of every kind. Some may think this. For some time we experienced the Prema of God,
