In plain words
Love all. Serve all. On the path of service we must make our lives well and truly holy.
Embodiments of the divine Ātma! Many people come to Prasanthi Nilayam. From tomorrow no one at all may simply sit idle. We must, without fail, do in society as much work as they are able. Is merely eating, sitting and talking the goal that befits humanity? Each must surely do whatever work he can. Those who do no work may not even stay in Prasanthi Nilayam. Do it. Do some service or other. Loading unloading all the time: is this what humanity is for? That is not right. From this Guru Pūrṇimā onwards, what you must do, above all, is service. There is so much service to be done. It is in service alone that life is fulfilled. Why has the whole world fallen into such sorry states today? These sorry states come only because people go into leadership without learning to be servants. One who does no service is not fit at all to become a leader. Servanthood alone brings leadership. Servitude alone nourishes the state of Śaṅkara. We must give no room to the Ahaṅkāra that says, "I am a great man." Today a man is not strong through wealth. He is not strong through numbers of people. What is true strength? Morality and purity are the only strength. This is man's true strength. What use is strength of body? You may carry a boulder. You may carry a rock. No. The strength to bear our sorrow is true strength. One must become a man of good character. The heart must always stay pure. If we are to develop these two, we must take part in service. As we take part in this service, Ahaṅkāra is rooted out. If we want to root out our Ahaṅkāra, we must take part in service. Then not only will our life be fulfilled, we will also have given our country an ideal life. Today many office bearers give instruction to everyone, but they do not join in the work themselves. Every one must be a worker, not a master. Only then will we have wished true welfare for the country. Only then will we have nourished true humanity. Every one must take part in service. What we tell others, we must do and show. That I do. That is why it is fitting for Me to say it. I say, "Love all." I love all. I work from daybreak until night. How joyful I am, do you know! You do not know. Happyness is My form. I am always in Ānanda. I worry about nothing. What is the reason? I have no desires. That is the cause of true Ānanda.
