Our bhajan gives Śānti to the world as well. Bhajan must be done with the feeling, “Lokāssamastā sukhinobhavantu.” We must wish that the whole world may be well. Only then will sacred feeling grow in us.
Students! Try to drive away the bad feelings, bad qualities and bad thoughts that come over you. It is these that are rooting out all your humanness. However much study you have, if there is no humanness, life is wasted. I have said that “I am a man, I am a man” is only a half-truth. The second half-truth: I am not a beast. I am not a beast. I am not a beast. Only when these two come together does our humanness come to fulfilment. I am not animal. I am not animal. We must join these two together. You think you are a man. You behave like a beast. When you think you are a man, you must behave as a man. You must not take in the least to bad habits and bad thoughts. When you want to attain this sacred thing, you must carry on the contemplation of God within the heart.
