Passage 7

Tap any word for its meaning.

In plain words

If society should scorn you, you too argue it out with society. ‘It is not good. This is good.’ So saying, develop your own faith. So today we must develop this strength to fight. If some fellow comes along and says something, ‘Arere, this devotee, this sādhaka!’, he hangs his head as if insulted. That weakness must not be there. Yes. I am a devotee. What shame is that to you? There is no shame in saying, ‘I am a drunkard.’ What shame comes of saying, ‘I am a devotee of God’? So in this we need not be afraid at all. It is my wish; besides, who are you to ask? My desire who are you? You have no concern in this; in this kind of fight you must win this truth. But today that is not there. Joining with this one and that, being tied up with the world, wanting to satisfy this world, we are becoming weak in every way. It is not the world's satisfaction that you need. You need the satisfaction of the Paramātma. When you leave the world, this saṃsāra of yours does not follow you. Your saṃskāra follows you. You must develop saṃskāra, not saṃsāra. In saṃsāra, carry out your own duty. Beyond that, do not get too involved with the rest of society. Still, serve society. When you know it is good, serve society. There is nothing wrong at all. But you must not do it for the sake of individuals.

Self satisfaction is needed. When does this self satisfaction come to us? Self satisfaction comes only when you develop Self confidence. This confidence must stay right. This confidence has no reason, no reason. Confidence is beyond reason. They asked, ‘Why do you love God?’ You ask, ‘Why do you love your mother?’ ‘She is my mother,’ he says. Say, ‘He is my God.’ For this right you must fight. What reason is there for you to love your mother? No reason. Only one reason. She is my mother. In the same way, why love God? He is my God. No reason. It is my confidence. On this confidence alone does satisfaction come to you. When satisfaction has come, then you make sacrifice. When you make this sacrifice, then alone does realisation come. Self confidence foundation. Self satisfaction-wall Self sacrifice-roof. Self realisation is life. Our whole life depends on the self. What is meant by self? Selflessness self is real self. That is, it is not what belongs to our body. It is what belongs to the Ātma. A small example. I have told all the children many times. This is my body I am not the body. I am seperate from body. My body, body is seperate you are seperate.
