Passage 8

Tap any word for its meaning.

In plain words

It has become just a kind of bad custom. We must do namaskāra with the feeling of the heart, with contentment of mind, in purity of citta. The Self dwelling in all is the Paramātma; to Him alone I offer namaskāra. The namaskāra offered is the Paramātma Himself; the namaskāra received is the Paramātma Himself. Even when anyone speaks ill of us, offer your namaskāra and hold to the oneness: in that form, that Paramātma is speaking ill of this Paramātma. How sacred the equanimity that comes then! So whatever is given is the Paramātma's prasāda. No one can say when, what will come, and in what way. So we must feel, ‘All is for the pleasure of God.’ For this, take part in service. Put your time, without measure, into God's work. Do not enter into useless things and waste time. God's Name too is most necessary. Repeating the Name, doing work with our hands, we must drink in this Ānanda with the heart. The oneness of these three is trikaraṇa-śuddhi.
