In plain words
Where conduct is not right, however rich a man may be, however strong, however learned, he is simply unworthy. It is not wealth that gives us greatness. It is not the strength of our body that gives us greatness. It is not our intellect that gives us greatness. It is the conduct we follow in our daily life that gives us greatness.
Embodiments of Prema! It is through our conduct that we must strive to attain God. Without this conduct, however many sādhanas you do, all of them are in vain. So all who have Bhakti for God must develop this divine feeling in the heart, and through it make the effort needed to draw near to God.
You are all in the kingdom of Sai You are all in Sai's Home You are all in Sai's Light You are all in Sai's Heart I will bless you in the Holy night This is your right.
We are all in the very house of God. The whole world is nothing but the home of God. When we recognise this truth, where can differences come from for us any more? People imagine that God is angry, that God is troubled, that God is vexed in many ways. Such people have truly not recognised the principle of God at all. When an ulcer forms in the stomach, then, to cure that ulcer in the right way, the doctor takes a knife and cuts open the stomach. But did he make this cut out of anger with this patient? No. No. He cut for his good alone. It is only because he has Prema for that person that he did this work, to cure him and make him a sound person. In the same way, when the diseases called bad qualities enter some people, certain treatments have to be given to cure those diseases. People take these treatments for nothing but hatred, or anger, or dislike. This is simply the mark of small minds. One who has recognised the principle of Prema gives no room at all to such thoughts.
Today is the birthday of a great soul. It is the birthday of a prophet of a religion. Those who look on Jesus as the child of God and believe in Him as the messenger God sent are the Christians. On such a holy day, every year, our old girl students of Anantapur have been following a path of a kind, as messengers of Sai.
