In plain words
All this is Vāsudeva.’ Wherever one looks, He is there. But only because we fail to recognise these values of … are we unable to … the divinity that pervades everything.
Look. That is a bulb. From this bulb, light comes to us. If … are to receive this light, what is the basis of the light? The bulb. Just because there is a bulb, do we get light? We do not. It needs a wire, a connection. Just because there is this wire, do we get light? There has to be current in that wire. Only when that current comes through … and reaches the bulb do we get light. So the current is Satya, the wire is Dharma. The bulb is Śānti. Prema is the light.
This Prema is in everyone. Prema itself is God. God Himself is Prema. We must foster this … of Prema. There is no man in the world without Prema. But because we use this Prema … the right path, this Prema keeps taking on many different forms. The … child's Prema is called vātsalya. The Prema of kin and friends is called anurāga. The Prema of wife and husband they call mōha. Prema for things they call icchā. Prema for the Paramātma is what we call Bhakti. But Prema is one. Mysore pāk, gulābi jām, barfī, miṭhāyi, jilēbi, so we name them, and though … , when we recognise the truth that the sugar in all of them is one, what does it matter to us that they differ? In … way, divinity is present in all. We must not hurt anyone. We must not wound … . The reason is that the God who is in all is one. Every … is a part of God. God is not somewhere apart. You too are God. Only because you are caught up in the body do you forget to be caught up in God. If you truly inquire, … divinity is present, risen up in you yourself. Attaining such oneness, we must reach God through the principle of Prema.
Without Prema we cannot attain it. A small example: ‘I am Brahman,’ they … . In every one of us there is this ‘I, I’. Only after forms were born did they give it a name. ‘What is your name?’ ‘Rāmayya,’ they say. This name Rāmayya was given by the parents … ; it did not come with birth. When was this name given? It was given on the tenth day or the eleventh day. Before it was given, what was the name? ‘I’. That is the ‘I’ there. ‘I’ is one name given … not a name that was conferred.
