In plain words
Resolving that nothing else in the world surpasses these, Yājñavalkya too from that day on taught his disciples in this way that service to mother and father, service to the guru and gifts of food are what matter most.
Students! Our classes began on an Ekādaśī day. Again on an Ekādaśī day we are bringing these classes to their completion. We must regard all these classes as an Ekādaśī vrata. In this vrata many elders, men of experience, have taught you a great many things with all their heart. None of them is easily had by you. You may come by even Swami easily, but none of them will you come by. People like these came and taught you many things with great Bhakti and śraddhā. You must take these in with Bhakti and śraddhā. Merely taking them in is not enough. You must practise them. Some of them at least you must put into practice and hold out to others as an example. What we chiefly recognised in the Veda are five prāṇas. You must keep remembering these every moment. First: you must not be careless. Whether it is the command of your gurus, the command of your mother and father or the command of your elders, you must not neglect it. Second. You must not behave with discourtesy. You must receive your education with humility and obedience. Third. On the strength of your cleverness, never give Ahaṅkāra any room. Fourth: we must not look at others with envy because they are rising to high positions. If these four enter you, incivility takes hold of you. You begin to behave in society without civility.
