In plain words
So the Gopīs prayed. Our hearts are deserts empty of Prema. Our longing is to make the shoots of Prema grow. They want water. What does it mean: "So that a rain of the nectar of Prema may pour, so that rivers of Prema may flow, play the flute"? Those words of Prema themselves are the rain of nectar. The heart of Prema itself is the land. The teaching of Prema itself is the water. The fruit of Prema itself is our Ānanda. This flow called Ānanda itself is the ocean of Prema. When this small being wishes to be offered up in this ocean of grace, we must attain the principle of Prema. This is what they called enjoyment joined with sacrifice. It is not enjoyment that belongs to the body. It is not enjoyment that belongs to the mind. This is enjoyment that belongs to the Ātma. It is natural and innate. It is not imagined. It is not artificial. It is only joined with Ānanda. So, students! Light up this world with Prema alone, so that it blazes bright. Today Prema itself has come to nothing. Put green grass between one man and another, and it bursts into flame. So we must foster Prema.
