Passage 13

Tap any word for its meaning.

In plain words

Today children do not know at all what Prema is. For this too there are some reasons. All the children of today are cinema children. It has become an artificial life. There is no Heart at all. Art is outside, heart is inside. But they do not try to recognise it. In olden times mothers had a very sacred culture and followed that culture both at home and outside. They listened to good things. They read good books. They lived by good tradition. So the children born to them were good children. How are the mothers of today? Watching TV twenty-four hours a day, going to the cinema, sitting in clubs. So the children born to them are turning into TV children too. Why? “Yadbhāvaṃ tadbhavati”: the scene outside enters within. How? If I take a camera, turn it towards you and click, your photo comes and falls into this camera. In the same way the scene outside enters within. It is these mothers who teach the children bad habits. Even when examination time comes, the children sit and study in front of the TV. The parents bring even their food to them there. This is not what parents should do. ‘The examinations are coming; go and study,’ they must say, and make them study. Today such parents have become scarce. So the children of today are growing up merely artificial.

If you are grateful to your parents today, your children will be grateful to you tomorrow

Embodiments of Prema! Ours is Bhārata. Ours is a land of sacrifice. Ours is a land of yoga. Ours is a land of karma. It is not a land of enjoyment. Today people waste their lives wanting to live a wholly modern life and to follow the western countries. This is not following the western countries; it is wasting life. Don't waste time; time waste is life waste. Time is God. This must be known.
