In plain words
We must bow to the command of our parents. Why should we follow it? Today your blood, your food, your head are your parents' gift. First of all we must show gratitude to our parents. ‘Mātṛdevo bhava, pitṛdevo bhava’. To them we must first give gratitude. You may ask why we should give it. If you give your parents gratitude today, tomorrow your children will give you gratitude. That is reaction, reflection, resound. This Prakṛti is only like a mirror. Whatever we do in this world, we must surely experience its fruit. No one can deny this law. So inquire well within the present. All the students of today keep only the two, past and future, in view. Past is past; forget the past, it won't come back, future is not sure. How can you say that you will be here until tomorrow? Don't brood over future. Leave the Past; forget the future. Keep the Present as your goal! It is not ordinary present, this is Omnipresent. The result of the Past is in the present. The results in the Future too are in the present. Whatever seed we sowed before, that tree comes now. Whatever seed we sow today, that very tree is what it becomes later on. Students must be taught well in this way. Present is very important. Use it well. Enjoy it in a sacred way. The future will turn out good for you. Teachings like these are not found in the books at all. This is not the children's fault. Parents and teachers must develop this well. There is another reason for it too. The government must see to a right syllabus. The government knows nothing of what is in the syllabus. When it does not give them the syllabus in the right way, it is not a government but an ornament. We must give a good syllabus. Only then will children rise to a good, high state. It is the children of today who will grow into those who raise up the Bhārata of the future.
