In plain words
It must not be used beyond limit. Greed is an even greater torment to man. Because of it, man cannot enjoy even the things that have come to him. This rāga kleśa plunges man deeper still into disease.
Then, dveṣa kleśa. Man wants something and goes to a person for it. If that person does not help him, he nurses hatred against that person. This is the vāsanā for sense objects, bound up with selfishness and self-interest! What is the reason man moves away from Ānanda? Avidyā kleśa, abhinava kleśa, asthita kleśa, rāga kleśa, dveṣa kleśa: on the day we root out all these five kleśas, on that day we can experience the Ānanda that is our own svarūpa.
For every action there is another, a fitting reaction
You are students. You are the ones who live on the very first storey of the building called life. Only when you set up the safety life needs on this first storey will the other three storeys be secure as well. At this very age you must gather the virtues that befit the gṛhastha, vānaprastha and sannyāsa āśramas. If these qualities are missing in brahmacarya itself, the whole building of the stages that follow will come down in a heap.
Students! Keeping the future in view, you must set your understanding on the right path. Today we are very careless, saying, “We'll see to it when the time comes.” At this age, giving in to mean desires, you gladly enter into such doings. Losing the knowledge that weighs the eternal against the passing, losing Viveka too, you labour for passing joys. But in the future a sorrow ten times as great will pursue you to match it. God created the world.
