In plain words
Can a plant say anything! Can flowers say anything! They have no understanding at all. Yet they too are full of life! They saw all things as full of God, and loved them so. So close are the ties of each with the other that those who have experienced the principle of God's Prema find no other Prema to their liking at all. Cakora birds go searching for the moon alone; even if you put up a light bigger than it, they do not mistake it for the moon. In the same way: “We will not love all these imagined things. You alone we love. So, O Paramātma! Our Prema is very pure. We have no other desires at all. We love You for the sake of Prema,” they prayed.
Churning and searching the hearts of devotees and taking the principle of Prema: this is the inner meaning of Kṛṣṇa's stealing butter
Today the children have all asked to hear something about Kṛṣṇa. What is the inner meaning of Kṛṣṇa's stealing butter? Butter is the pure principle of Prema, taken out by churning, searching and searching through the whole heart! It is utterly pure. So when it is said He stole such pure butter, it means He went on stealing hearts, and hearts alone.
The Gopīs kept making complaints to Yaśodā in many ways. Yaśodā caught Kṛṣṇa by the hand.
Kṛṣṇa! You will not eat what is given you; you go off to the cowherds' homes and butter, by the fistful, you eat in secret; with you were born all these scandals, Kṛṣṇa! Away with you, my boy!
‘You go out of your way to start all these rows. The whole of Gokula is very angry with you. Why will you not eat when I serve you? Is the butter in other people's houses so tasty to you?’
