Passage 2

In plain words

In the same way, the house called the Ātma is only one! Because we make in it the rooms called the body, the senses, the Manas, the Buddhi, the citta and Ahaṅkāra, because we build upādhis, these appear to us as different. Because a humanity full of such difference has grown today, Guru-hood has become a most urgent need. What is this Guru-hood? Who is this Guru? What is the true principle in this Guru-hood? What is the form of Satya in this Guru-hood? Who is the Guru? Is the one who merely teaches the physical sciences the Guru? Is the one who breaks physical objects down into their parts the Guru? Is the one who explains in full detail the science of the matter of the world the Guru? No, no. All of these are mere teachers! The true Guru is Brahmānanda. What is this Brahmānanda? This Brahmānanda itself is the true Guru.

Brahmānanda is the Ānanda beyond the moral, the physical, the religious, the spiritual and the worldly

Who is this Brahmānanda? What is His form? When we enquire, ‘Where does He dwell?’, no other joy equal to Brahmānanda is to be found. All the joys there are in the world are merged in Brahmānanda. If all joys are contained within it and dissolve into this Brahmānanda, then where is this Brahmānanda itself? When man lives comfortably, calmly, in plenty and in contentment, what kind of joy is the joy he feels? When man enjoys pleasures and riches with money, gold, goods and vehicles, what kind of joy is the joy he gains? This they called merely ‘human joy’. They called it ‘the joy of man’. What is a hundred times greater than this joy of man they called the joy of the senses. What is a hundred times greater than this joy of the senses they called ‘the joy of Indra’. The joy a hundred times greater than this they called ‘the joy of the gods’. What is a hundred times greater than this they called ‘the joy of Bṛhaspati’.
