Passage 2

Tap any word for its meaning.

In plain words

Embodiments of the divine Ātma!

The culture of Bhārata is the most exalted. It is beyond compare. There is a Satya that does not change with time, does not fade with history, does not dwindle and does not grow with creation; the culture of Bhārata is nothing but the giving of form to that Satya. The inner meaning of this culture of Bhārata is precisely Sanātana Dharma. Karma is that very Sanātana Dharma in another form. No one can determine that karma is like this or like that. What it will do, when, where and in what way: that is a thing no one can grasp. This principle of karma pervades the whole world. The literature of the people of Bhārata is the Veda.

Man stays bound by karma

The Veda has the form of three kāṇḍas. The first kāṇḍa is nothing but karma yoga! The Upaniṣads came forth to teach the path of Jñāna. The Upaniṣads too are a triad of yogas. In them too the first is none other than karma! We must recognise the inner meaning that lies in giving karma the chief place, whether in the three yogas or in the three kāṇḍas.
