In plain words
Many teachers, though their home circumstances or their own condition were not in good order, have dedicated their very lives to Swami's service, borne many hardships and come here. This is your home. So, to reach your home, you put up with any number of hardships, bear them, withstand them, push through them, and keep coming onward. Our Central Trust must help, at least to some extent, the teachers who have come here bearing so many hardships. If you ask who the true devotees are: it is you. The sacrifices of the workers in our organisation are found in no other organisation. Such diamond-like workers are what you are.
The services that the Seva Dal render are truly wonderful. They cannot be described in any way. Of God they say, “From which words turn back, with the mind, not reaching it,” but God is your very own form! Man himself is God. This body is the temple of God. You must hold to a feeling like this. “We have come to our own home. We have done the work we had to do”: so each must feel in his own heart. You must not think, on the other hand, that you have come somewhere else, to a stranger's house. You must not regard this as someone else's work. You must regard this as your own home and this as your own work.
The Government of Karnataka and the service organisations too have gone to great trouble and provided many facilities. Whatever they may do, your hearts, your feelings, your one-pointedness rest on Swami alone. So the responsibility of looking after the comfort of those who have gathered here with such trust and faith in Swami rests on us too. So, for as long as you stay here, you must not pay any money at all for the food you eat. If we feed our own children who have come to our home, do we collect charges for it! This is your own home. So here you must not pay charges for anything. No money is to be paid for tickets. The Central Trust will have to bear the whole responsibility for this. So if any money for food has been taken from the Chairman of the India Sathya Sai Organisations, I wish it to be given back to each one whose money it is.
For me, money is not what matters; virtue is what matters. It is not possible to put a value on your Prema, saying “this much” or “that much”. No value can be set on Prema. How can we put a value on such Prema! What I want is your Prema alone! Your welfare alone! Your progress alone! Your Ānanda alone!
love is my form truth is my breath bliss is my goal.
Your Ānanda is what I want. So stay happily, have your meals here tomorrow as well, and then go back on your journey as it suits you. With Prema I bless you, grant you grace, and enjoin you that here you must not pay a single naya paisa.
Before you leave, I shall confer with you once more about the rules of these organisations. We shall need to confer on how this organisation should be developed in the days to come, on what path we should walk, how the value of humanness should be proclaimed among the people, and how it should be experienced. So I shall set aside time especially for you, talk with you once more and give you real joy.
