In plain words
Was he born to build houses and mansions? All these must be there too. We must ask ourselves the question "What is my secret, what is human life, what is my duty?" and give the world an ideal life. Every human being has worth. There are some duties one must carry out in one's life. We must carry out our duties and do the work that makes our humanness worth its name.
We must see the oneness in the many
Anil Kumar spoke. One may think, "I am not a beast; I am a man." One may think, "You are not a man, but God." "Sir, you are God; I am a man. I know little, you are the greater one": so he went on making comparisons. I am you; you are me. Whatever is in your body, that same thing is in my body. ‘The Lord of all beings’: the sense of one Ātma is there in you and in me. As much as this body is the five elements, that body is the five elements just as much. The two are equal, are they not! Then where is any difference? We must see the oneness in the many.
nations are many but earth is one beings are many but breath is one jewels are many but gold is one.
If we are to gain oneness, God is not something apart. It has been said that the body is a walking temple. When we say "a walking temple", who makes it walk? God Himself makes it walk. That is the vibration within it. Where should it walk? Intelligence: that is radiation. The body, which does its work using both this radiation and this vibration, is itself materialisation. Bhūr bhuvas suvaḥ: all these three are I. Bhuvarloka and Suvarloka do not mean that they are somewhere far off. Bhūloka is in this very body; the prāṇa called Bhuvarloka and the Jñāna called Suvarloka are joined in this very body. So we need not search for them separately. Everything is within us. Within a small lens we are able to see stars thousands of miles away. In the same way the whole universe is held within this small body. This is the secret of creation. If we enquire into this secret even once, we shall know how great God is. The very blood that is in the tongue flows through the whole body. In the tongue the same blood, in the hand the same blood. But take a laddu and put it on the tongue, and it tells that it is sweet; but the hand cannot tell. He has gone on creating a different value in each place. The eyes can see, but they cannot hear. The ears can hear, but they cannot see. The mouth can eat, but it cannot hear. Giving each one its own power, He goes on making the effort fit for each to carry out its duty. What a secret the secret of creation is! Who can do this? Who is able to? It is impossible. It is possible for God alone.
Of all creatures, a human birth is rare
By the grace of such a God, there is nothing we cannot achieve. What is called human effort is only something we keep as the occasion; it is merely a tool. My body, my mind, my intellect are tools. Instruments. You are their master. You must have faith in that idea. For each and every one there is a master called the Ātma. We must not betray. We must not cheat. We must be grateful to Him. He has given us such a sacred, precious body. How sacred it is! That is why, of all creatures, a human birth is rare. How rare a human birth is! Does anyone learn skills the moment he is born? These skills come little by little. For this there has to be someone. On the blackboard they wrote A, B, C. The letters can be seen, but someone has to say which letter makes which sound! There has to be someone who says "This is A"!
Flowers, needle and thread are there: will they become a garland by themselves! Diamonds are there, gold is there: there has to be one who makes the jewels! The lamp bowl and the wick are there: will the lamp give light by itself!
There has to be one who lights it! Bhūr bhuvas svaḥ: these three are there. There has to be one who runs them. He is God. That God is present in all. Rationalists argue in many ways, but it is argument without meaning. Nothing happens without God. God must be there for everything. We must grow faith in God.
May all the worlds be happy
From ancient times, the land that gave the spiritual wealth of Bhārata to every land is this Bhārata. From that day to this, the culture of Bhārata has held to the wide vision, "May all the worlds be happy." Though we keep such a sacred culture and all its ideals are within us, man is unable to know himself. What is the cause? The influence of today's education. The faults of today's society. It is because of this that we are forgetting the divinity within us. You know.
