Passage 2

In plain words

In the daytime the sun gives light to everyone. Without this sun, there is no world. The sun is the visible God of the earth. Without the sun there is no creation. There are no crops. No trees. No air. No food. Living beings cannot survive. Through the sun's light alone, living beings survive, crops ripen, rivers flow, and the land prospers in joy, in well-being and in plenty. Through the sun's influence, man's heart grows pure. So the sun is the visible God of the earth. The power of radiance in the sun, the power of hydrogen, sustains the world. Only some part is helium gas. Because the helium is there, the oxygen neither wanes nor grows, and day by day it burns at its own level. In the sun there are many holes. If you enquire how big the holes in the sun are, you could tie up this whole earth in a bundle and sink it in any one of those holes. Such huge, huge holes are in the sun. Not just one, not two: there are thousands. Because of these holes, through the helium, oxygen and hydrogen keep growing step by step. Scientists know this. The sun is the visible God of the world. The third eye. The giver of light is the sun.

Dharma gives light to these three worlds. What is this Dharma? Dhṛyate iti dharmaḥ. That which holds together. It holds everything fast. Without this Dharma there is no world. Dharma is like the life-breath of every action. Without that Dharma, equal to life itself, there is no living. Each thing has its own Dharma. There is fire. What is fire's Dharma? The power to burn, that is fire's Dharma. If it loses this power to burn, it is not fire. It is charcoal. There is a block of ice. Coldness itself is its Dharma. If it loses the very Dharma called coldness, it is not ice. Dhārayatīti dharmaḥ. That which upholds is Dharma. What upholds man? The blended form of these three, heart, speech and body, is itself man's Dharma. The oneness of this triad, the purity of this triad, the stainlessness of this triad, the cleanness of this triad: this wholly pure principle of the three is man's Dharma.
