In plain words
People think he is Yama. No, no. All is time; He is Kāla. Some children have doubts. A son was born to the Sun. They say Yama is the Sun's son. All the children laugh. The Sun. The Sun's wife. A child. They push all these aside as stories. No, no. This is the truth. By whom does time come about? It comes about through sunrise and sunset. Sunrise and sunset were born of the Sun. So the Sun has a son. When the Sun rose at dawn, we said six o'clock. At sunset it became six o'clock. Twelve hours have passed. Through whom did these twelve hours of time pass? Through whom were they born? They were born of the Sun alone. So time is the Sun's son. When you enquire into the inner meaning that concerns the Ātma, all of it is true. There is no room for doubt of any kind. Many such things come in our Purāṇas and Itihāsas. Comparing them with worldly things, we do not believe them. That is a great mistake. Only when you enquire well, with patience, will you get the right answer. They say Viṣṇu, Lakṣmī and Sarasvatī emerged from lotuses. That is, all that is was born from the lotus of the heart. Good and bad, all have emerged from us. That is what is meant by yad bhāvaṃ tad bhavati. We should not push this aside as untrue because we cannot see its inner meaning. Take time and root out your doubts. Be free of care. But do not spoil your mind with doubts. In our Purāṇas there is no room at all for doubt. Who wrote these Purāṇas? They were not written by any Tom, Dick or Harry. They were written by great sages and men of learning, Vālmīki and Vyāsa. There is no one else so learned. Such learned men alone have the right to be poets. Not everyone is a poet. Vyāsa wrote the eighteen Purāṇas. Untruth cannot enter into them. Going by our own notions we may call them untrue, but they are never untrue. All that was written is true. All are ideals. They wrote no wrong path at all. They spoiled no one. They led no one astray. All are books of ideals. You must have an ideal life. If you want an ideal life, you must reduce your words. You must bow to the command of God. You must keep discipline. In no circumstance should you give up discipline. We should not give up our Bhāratīya culture, sacred, divine, ever new and noble.
