Passage 13

Tap any word for its meaning.

In plain words

It is beyond describing. Such is the vastness of God's feeling.

God's is expansion love. But the devotee's is contraction love. narrow mind. A small example. The hostel warden and the students all came to the room. Yesterday. The hostel teachers got together and had this chair made. They tried to have it made for the 70th Birthdays. But the attempt failed. Yesterday came. They held My feet. That Swami should accept it. 'Boys, I only give; I do not take. Well then, how much money did this chair cost? They did not say. If you tell Me it cost so much, I will pay that money and take the chair,' I said. They were very hurt and cried. They pressed hard that Swami must accept their prayer. They had it made with toil, in a pure heart, with pure feeling. I agreed to that and kept it. The boys are good. The boys are very devout. For Swami they have a mountain of Prema. But now and then water bubbles come up. Those few come and spoil the mind. This morning I said it. 'Warden! I have rice with Me. Take two hundred bags for that hostel and two hundred for this hostel,' I said. Basmati rice. There are the primary school hostel, the higher secondary school hostel and the Institute hostel. 'Of the three, take two, two and two hundred bags,' I said. The warden spoke. 'There is the boys' money. Outside, a bag costs a thousand rupees. I will pay the money,' he said. 'Madcap! Is this all you have learned after so long? When I give two hundred bags with Prema, with a large heart, are you thinking of money with a small heart! How wrong this is,' I said. For the children are My property. So I am giving the rice to My children. Should I take money from My own children! A father goes to the market and has shirts stitched for his children for the festival. Would a father ever ask, 'I had a shirt stitched for you; give me fifty rupees'? When even a worldly father does not ask, would Swami, the Father of the universe, the large-hearted, ask for money! That will never happen. So large is Swami's heart. You too have come from the Ātma, so you must make it as vast as it ought to be.
