Passage 6

Tap any word for its meaning.

In plain words

That is divinity. The feelings within us are worthless. They are like charcoal. It is not good to spoil our strength, which is like a ruby, for the sake of such charcoal. Anger rises in us. Envy comes. Ahaṅkāra comes. All these are mere charcoal. They have no worth at all. It is not fitting to spoil precious forbearance, precious Śānti, precious Buddhi, for worthless things like these. That is what I said before. P.P.P. P-purity. P-patience P-perseverence. We must keep on guarding these three. If purity rises in us, calm dawns in us. Where there is purity, there is Praśānti. When Praśānti and purity come together, perseverance dawns in us. We must set this perseverance on what is good. We must not put perseverance into doing evil to others. There must be no perseverance in doing injury to others. There must be no perseverance in hurting others. There must be no perseverance in doing violence to others. There must be perseverance in doing others good. There must be perseverance in making others happy. There must be perseverance in striving to attain divinity. But the young today, the moment passion rises, let go of perseverance and leap into action. Elders or youngsters, none should be hasty. You must enter into action calmly. With perseverance, you must weigh the good and the bad, both. First of all you must ask, "is it right or wrong." If the conscience agrees that it is right, you must certainly go ahead. No one's witness is needed. Your conscience is your witness. That is Cit. That is awareness. That is conscience. The words are different, but the thing is one. Though the thing is one, it takes many forms because it does many kinds of work. When the same brahmin cooks, they call him a cook-brahmin. When he does pūjā, they call him a priest-brahmin. When he tells the almanac, they call him an almanac-brahmin. It is one and the same brahmin. The names change according to the work he does. What is near to Sat is Cit. What shows forth Sat is Cit. This is a tumbler. What shows it forth? Light itself shows it forth. It makes it shine. In the same way, Cit makes Sat shine. Sat: being. It is. It always is. It is, without any change. This Cit shows that it always is.

I say this now and then. 4 F's. 1st F- follow the master.
