Passage 11

Tap any word for its meaning.

In plain words

When God is satisfied, the whole world is satisfied. When God is not satisfied, no one is. When God says yes, everyone says yes. The stomachs of all Durvāsa's disciples were filled. Those who had gone to bathe went off from there straight away. They did not come here. In this way Draupadī's nature was wholly bound up with Bhakti and surrender. Because she faced so many hardships, God praised her good name and standing.

We need not strive for the praise of this one or the praise of that one. We need not pray to God for petty things. We must make the effort it takes to win the approval of God. If we gain that approval alone, it is as good as gaining the world. When God is full of Prema, the whole world comes into our hands. Tyāgarāja said, "If I have the strength of Your Grace alone, the nine planets will come into my hands." So he said. If we are to become worthy of the Grace of God, we must face everything: hardships and losses, pleasures and pains, fame and ill fame. At all times we must remember the Name of God. We must become worthy of the Prema of God. If you are worthy of Prema, you need fear nothing. We must become worthy of that Prema. For the Grace of God, we must strive to increase our equal-mindedness.
