In plain words
Where all the good qualities are not fully present, he is in truth no man; that the very qualities of boys and girls are Bhārata's wealth: reflect on this in your hearts.
Students!
From time without beginning, Bhāratīya culture has gone on living its life worshipping God with incense, lamps and food offerings, and rejoicing. Unfortunately, the boys and girls of today have forgotten such sixteen forms of worship, and taking only a Name as their support, they imagine that they are giving themselves some satisfaction in their lives. Losing the discernment of what comes first and what comes after, the students of today are setting their duties somewhat on a wrong path. In the tradition of Bhārata, before eating, people offered the food to God: Prāṇāya svāhā, apānāya svāhā, vyānāya svāhā. Udānāya svāhā: offering it to God five times in this way, they received the offered food as prasāda. The root cause of this is good qualities, good conduct, good thoughts, good reflections and good deeds. At the time of offering to God, they would bring a fine, clean leaf, place on the leaf the sweet dishes that had been cooked, and offer them to God. Before the offering, the vessel, the cooking and the food may not have been pure. For us to look into the purity of the vessel, of the cooking and of the food is a very difficult matter.
Brahman is the offering, Brahman the oblation, poured by Brahman into the fire that is Brahman; Brahman alone is reached by one absorbed in action that is Brahman.
When we regard everything as an offering to Brahman, it takes the form of prasāda. Before, it was a meal made up of sweet dishes. Once it has been offered to God, it turns into prasāda. Whoever eats such holy prasāda, there is no fault in it.
But today, as the times go, what prasāda, whose prasāda, are they handing to whom?
