In plain words
Time is all-important; it is the measure.
For one who works hard, Bhārata is a great land
Students! Today they waste 3/4 of sacred time. It passes in eating and sleeping. What do they do with the remaining 1/4? They waste time on needless matters, about this person and that. And then they waste it in doings like reviling others and mocking them.
As much as you revile others, the fruit of sin comes to you; it never leaves you anywhere in the world; others are not others; they are the Paramātma Himself; Sāī's word is the true path.
Others are not others; they too are the Paramātma! If you revile them, you become one who has reviled the Paramātma. We must not criticise anyone. With this very thing we are losing time beyond measure. These people reviling those, those reviling these, reviling and criticising one another: have you no other work than this? If you have no work at all, spread out your bed and sleep. Why do you waste time with such talk? He who defiles time is a great sinner. Truly, in our land of Bhārata, when we work hard the fruit is boundless. Bhārata is the very form of Annapūrṇā. In Bhārata there is no shortage of land. In Bhārata there is no shortage of ever-flowing rivers. We can grow any amount of crops. The advantages Bhārata has are found in no other land. For one who works hard, Bhārata is a great land. Only because there are no people today who work hard have we had to ask others for food, saying ‘Dehi’. They are bringing in loans from who knows how many countries. Why these debts? We have wealth in heaps.
