In plain words
There is no place in the world without the mind
All the problems of today grow only through man's resolves and counter-resolves. The mind is very strange. It is quite remarkable. Its actions are greater still. Its ways are astonishing. It has no form of its own. First it does mono action. It brings in the two. In the midst of hardship it gives a happiness. The very next moment it brings hardship back again. Sorrow one moment, joy the next. There is no place in the world without the mind. Wherever you look, the mind's influence is there to see. Through the power of these resolves, the mind is becoming all-pervading. That is why they said, ‘Manōmūlaṃ midaṃ jagat.’ The whole world is filled with the mind. For our happiness, for our sorrow, for our sins, for our merits, for our joy, for our grief, for everything, the mind itself is the root cause. That is why, in the language of Vedānta, ‘Manayeva manuṣyānāṃ kāraṇaṃ bandha mokṣayoḥ.’ It has always shown that the mind itself is the root cause of bondage and Mokṣa. When we recognise this power of the mind well, no problem of any kind will trouble us. You imagine that someone is the cause of your sorrow. You think that someone is the cause of your joy. No, no: whether of your joy or of your sorrow, you yourself are the cause. Your own resolves are the root cause. Your own mind is the cause of your resolves. To recognise that your own resolves are the root cause of your pleasure and pain, and to act on it: this is man's duty.
The vision of non-duality is Jñāna
In the world, living beings are born in endless numbers. There are 84 lakh species of living beings in this world. They have been divided into four kinds: aṇḍaja, piṇḍaja, svedaja and udbhijja. Aṇḍaja means what is born in an egg. Birds, insects and worms, snakes, all such are born out of the egg.
