In plain words
The father is not the son; the son is not the father. The father is the father, the son is the son! The two are not one. To pray, ‘You are father, You are mother,’ is simple-minded. ‘You are I, I am You.’ This prayer is the very best. Tat tvam asi: You are I. None of these ties of relationship and kinship binds us. Why should we set up this relationship? God, who is in all, is one alone! ‘Sarvataḥpāṇipādaṃ tat sarvatokṣi śiromukhaṃ’. Between You, who are in all, and me, where does this relationship of mother and father come from? The feeling of the one Ātma. That is ‘Mamātma sarvabhūtāntarātma’. What is in you, in them, in all, is the one Ātma. It has no differences of any kind, of caste, religion and the like. It is not bound by the sway of place and time. For all countries, all times, all peoples, all religions, all castes, God is one. On this very ground the Veda said, ‘Ekaṃ sat viprāḥ bahudhā vadanti’. What is, is one alone; we think of it as many. Where did this difference come from? You develop distinctions of this kind through the difference of upādhis. ‘Ekohaṃ bahusyāṃ’: all is one alone! He alone is God. All are joined to Him! He Himself dwells in all. All forms are He Himself, all names are He Himself! People recite the names of Keśava. However many names you recite, it is the one image. Day after day we keep falling into bhrama. As long as this bhrama lasts, Brahman stays far away.
The whole world is filled with Brahman!
Drive bhrama away, and we ourselves become Brahman. ‘Ahaṃ brahmāsmi’. I myself am Brahman. Devotees must develop a steady faith of this kind. Bodies are different. So we develop a feeling of difference. There is great difference between man and man. In the same way there is great difference between mind and mind. How can you experience oneness? Even if man differs from man, there must be oneness between mind and mind. The whole world is filled with Brahman! Scientists say, ‘Wherever you look, it is atomic energy.’ They say that to worship God in a form, to adore God, is mere foolishness.
