Passage 4

Tap any word for its meaning.

In plain words

We must think carefully about who the fools are. Truly, the scientists themselves are the fools. How so? This whole world is made up of form! Every atom has a form. ‘Aṇoraṇīyān mahato mahīyān’: even the atom has a form. There is nothing at all in the world without form.

He who bears every form, the tranquil; who bears every name, the auspicious; whose form is Saccidānanda, the One without a second: Satyaṃ, Śivaṃ, Sundaraṃ.

All forms are those God has taken on! This very thing the Puruṣa Sūkta says: ‘Sahasraśīrṣāpuruṣaḥ sahasrākṣa sahasrapāt’: all is the form of God! Because man has failed to know this truth rightly from time without beginning, humanity is turning into animality. Saying is one thing, doing another, experiencing yet another: so it has become. This is not humanity. Thoughts, words, actions must become one. Only then do we become people who have put on humanity. We say that all forms in the world are God's. But we say that God has no form.

The world is the relation of cause and effect

Nirguṇaṃ, nirañjanaṃ, sanātanaṃ, niketanaṃ, nitya, śuddha, buddha, mukta, nirmala svarūpiṇaṃ: what is the inner meaning? Only when oneness, the one, is there does diversity get its value. Put down a one, set a zero beside it, and it became 10. Put another zero, and it became 100; when you put another zero, it became 1000. When you put another zero, it became ten thousand. If you go on putting zeros like this, it becomes millions. Where do these zeros get their value? From the one alone! One is hero, World is zero. This World gets its value from the one. Only when God, the One, is there does everything get its value. Without God there is no world at all. God is the embodiment of the cause. The World is the embodiment of the effect. This world is just the relation of cause and effect. In so divine a Prakṛti, why can the one who has taken a human body not recognise his own true nature?
