Measured Food and Measured Living Alone Can Further Spiritual Growth

Many doubts come from food. Many problems arise from food. It is from food that all the passions come. It is from food that anger and lust grow. So we must eat sāttvic food. My aim is one: we must gain a health that needs no medicines at all. Whether you believe it or not, in two months more this body will be 71 years old. I have not taken a single tablet. There is no lack of any kind in My health. I can face anything. That is, in body I am along with you, and you are along with Me. But spiritually there is no comparison between you and Me. The reason is the measured food I eat. Food, and the way of living. Some habits the children have are very bad. You must destroy these completely. Beat your chest and say, ‘I am a man,’ and achieve it boldly. If some mad notion comes into you, at once say ten times, ‘I am not animal, I am man,’ and sit down! Those animal thoughts will go. This is an easy way. All these come with food and the way of living. So we must rise to a high level on the spiritual path and proclaim the spiritual path in the world. Only then will the wickedness, the unrest and the fears spread through this world all be rooted out.

Students! Do not think of yourselves as merely human beings. You are all gods! Gods! Where is Brahman? ‘I myself am Brahman.’ ‘Ahaṃ brahma.’ You must keep on gaining courage of that kind. For that, you must practise. That is why the Veda taught, ‘Ahaṃ brahmāsmi.’ ‘Think, I am Brahman; your delusion will surely go.’
