Passage 12

Tap any word for its meaning.

In plain words

That very yoga is skill in action. That is what we must know first of all. We must drive away the bad qualities in us. We must drive away bad habits. We must drive away bad thoughts. To such a one God Himself comes, of His own accord, running and running. God goes on loving beyond measure the one who loves such a God.

God Himself is searching for the true devotee

Once God said, ‘I am in debt to the devotees.’ To whom? He said it to Pārvatī, in the way of the world. Pārvatī means Prakṛti itself! Puruṣa said to Prakṛti, ‘I am a debtor to the devotee.’ ‘What debt? What have You taken?’ asked Pārvatī. ‘They love Me. They give Me something so precious. So I must pay him the interest called Mokṣa.’ So He said. What kind is it? Interest, not the 14% or 13% the banks give. He gave 100%. So ready does God stand, waiting. But you do not know that truth. You do not know that secret. That is why: who can describe the Prema of God as being like this or like that?

‘Here, there, wherever you look, the One alone! Affection dwells in the Ātma,’ said Besant. She was a British lady. ‘In India every single one sets out in the search for Satya, crying God, God. Is the devotee really searching for God, or is God searching for the devotee? Why search for God, who is there wherever you look? But wherever you look, a true devotee is not to be seen. So God Himself comes searching for the true devotee,’ she said.

Only when you believe in God can you have God appear before you

Face to face, what a drama these devotees play! Twinkle twinkle little star, how I wonder what you are?
