In plain words
The two of them are going along the bazaar. What does the world think? We are unable to recognise well the truth of society. They take him for a grand father and her for a grand daughter. If you really look, he is no grand father and she is no grand daughter. Here, in this way, it goes contrary. There, with the brother and sister, it goes contrary in that way.
We Must Guard Human Values Properly
The measure of age, the measure of society, the measure of karma, the measure of experience: within these four measures we must set our life to some extent. What recognises the truth of society and acts on it is the social measure. This is a social value. Only when we use it and set it on the right path can we keep our good name, and society too will honour us. If you say, ‘I have nothing to do with society; I shall behave as I please’, tomorrow society will put you out. You need not go as far as society. You are eating some fruit. If it is sweet, you swallow it with a smiling face; you relish it. If the same fruit is a little sour, you take it out and throw it aside. Why did you throw it away? It is not to your taste. It is not as you imagined. So you throw that fruit away. In the same way, if you live in keeping with society, they too will honour you. When you behave against society, they too will throw you out. They will not honour you in the least. If not in society, where else can you gain honour and standing? For humanness, honour is what matters most. So we must go on guarding properly the values that are in humanness.
Prema Is God; God Is Prema
Prema is God. God is Prema. When we give no value to Prema, we become people who give no value to God either. Only when we give full value to Prema do we become people who have given value to God.
