In plain words
First of all we must recognise what divinity really is. The nature of the consciousness that is in all is divinity. We must try to understand the nature of this consciousness. That consciousness is Cit. It is that which makes everything shine. In this hall so many heads are seen. There are heads. That is being. Light is what makes that which is there visible. That which is, is Sat. That which makes it manifest is Cit. Through these two we have contentment. This contentment is Ānanda. So Sat, Cit and Ānanda are our very nature! They are not outside us. Within and without, what fills everything everywhere is divinity alone!
If You Understand Divinity, You Can Experience Great Ānanda
If you understand divinity even a little, you can experience great Ānanda. Everyone thinks they know. But they know nothing. What is the reason? Being unable to experience it: that is the reason. The mansions and terraced houses seen in a dream are not there when you open your eyes, are they! Once upon a time a man grew weary of family life (the reason being that he had no means to keep the family going), left his home and went away overnight. He earned some money, a little here and a little there, and set out on the road home again. When he left that home, he had a little son. The boy used to spend his days in great happiness through the affection his father showed him. But through the separation from his father and the grief in his heart, he died. This father is coming back to his village, bringing some money. Meanwhile rain began, with loud thunder and lightning. Thinking it was not wise to travel to the village in the dark, he slept in a rest house in the next village. As soon as he lay down, he had a dream. He dreamt that he had become a mahārāja, that he sat on a golden throne, that men and women servants all waited on him, that he had six children, and that they all conducted themselves grandly.
