॥ ॥ ॥ ॥

In plain words

Only when we remember God, who dwells in the heart, do we gain Śānti

There, here, wherever you look, He is the One! Is He in the Ātma, as the beloved? Wherever you look, it is the One who is there. That true principle is in the heart alone. The body is a leather puppet:

Tai tai, tai tai, tai, puppet! Look at the fun of this, my lad, the leather puppet! Beauty, youth, the strength of the senses: do not strut, brother, thinking you have them. Ahead of you, my lad, and soon, is old age, the festival of the old. Tai tai. You cannot move about; your eyes grow dim; on your face wrinkles have formed, and your hair has turned grey; When little children call you an old monkey and snicker at you, you snap at them, O puppet! Tai tai.

What is all this! All this is a leather puppet! It is like a change that comes in a dream. This is not it. Our own true form is the Ātma-svarūpa, which does not change! Childhood, youth and old age all go on changing. But what is, is the one Ātma. ‘Ekātma sarvabhūtāntarātma.’ ‘Ek prabhu ko anek nām.’ Only when we recognise this truth do Śānti and Ānanda arise in us. The man of today pines, crying ‘Śānti’, ‘Śānti’, ‘Śānti’. Where is it, Śānti? Śānti is not outside. It is within us. Only when we remember God, who dwells in the heart, do we gain Śānti. Forgetting the heart and putting our faith in the outside, we fall into many bonds.

When the qualities of mothers are holy, the whole world turns holy

Embodiments of the Ātma! You are all embodiments of Brahman! All is the form of Brahman!
