In plain words
Whatever work we do, we must take its positive qualities. That is: "I am reading a book." "Which book are you reading?" "I am reading my text book." "What for?" "So that I may pass the examination." This too is a positive. These are tests that God gives. Call to mind that feeling for God: "I must pass in these tests." But do not tie yourself to the school, thinking "I am studying in order to pass in school." Which is your school? Good company is your school. In it, this is a test. You must pass this test. Only when you pass this test does sāmīpya come in. Nearness to what? It comes into nearness to divinity. From this sāmīpya, step by step, it becomes sārūpya. The narrow mind goes away altogether. Negative thoughts all go away. A small example. Think about it yourselves. A great heavy rain has fallen. Wherever you look around the village, there is water. When you talk, what do you say? "A great heavy rain has fallen." You say, "All round the village it is like the sea." "It is like the sea. Wherever you look, there is water." That is sāmīpya. Everything is turning into divinity, my dear. Whatever I say, whatever I do, whatever I think, whatever I give, whatever I take, it is all divinity. That is true sāyujya. Step by step you must believe that every act you do is God's work.
A small example. You have passed the M.B.A. What is the MBA for? You think a good job will come, in a bank or in a factory. If you want to get such a thing, you must make a plan from the very start and join it. You cannot go into anything without a plan. First you must make a master plan. Life has come. You must make this life worthwhile. How must you make it worthwhile? You must make it worthwhile by positive actions alone. By negative actions it will never be worthwhile. From ancient times, not only in Bhārata but in every land, people first recognise the way to live life. When someone asks, "Mother, what is your boy doing?": "We are giving our boy a good education.
