In plain words
You see! There is no fault whatever in God's words. It is the devotee who, not understanding rightly, falls into misfortune.
The Clever Student
A guru called his disciples: “I am giving you a sweet. Guard it so that no flies settle on it, no ants get at it and nobody steals it,” he said, so the story goes. Some put it in boxes and locked them; others put it in tins and closed the lids. But one clever student ate it up nicely and kept it safe in his stomach. The next day the guru asked them to tell him how each of them had kept safe the sweet he had given. One said he had put it in a box and locked it. Another said he had put it in a tin and set the tin in water, so that the ants would not get at it. In this way each one answered in his own fashion. Last of all the clever student came forward and said, “Guruji! So that the sweet you gave me should fall to no one else, I ate it myself, I digested it, and now I am enjoying it.” In the same way, we must eat well and digest the sweet called the Name of God too. That is, we must write it on the tablet of the heart and keep it safe. Always, at all times, in all places, we must think of Hari. In this Kali age there is no way across greater than the remembrance of the Name.
