In plain words
Those who have recognised this truth must give the body no room at all. That is why every man describes divinity according to his own level, according to his own experience.
Differences among beings appear according to their saṃskāras
But one person's Bhakti may be in a very high state. Another may have a greater taste for the universe. One says ‘the universe’, another says ‘Viṣṇu’. One gains the universe. The second gains Viṣṇu. ‘Yad bhāvaṃ tad bhavati.’ We receive that fruit according to our own feelings alone. In the river Gaṅgā as much water as one could want keeps flowing. But the water fills just as large a vessel as you take there. Is this Gaṅgā water only as much as is in this vessel? However large the vessels, that Gaṅgā water fills them. So what must we do today? We must enlarge our vessels. Only when we enlarge it will this Prema for God, or the power of God, grow boundlessly in us. So today, to attain God, there is no use in singing hymns of praise. There is no use in chanting ślokas. Nor is there any use in reading books. There is no use in performing yajñas, yāgas and kratus. But if the heart is missing, all these are nothing but waste. God is the dweller in the heart. ‘The Lord of all beings.’ ‘This world is the dwelling of the Lord.’ The whole world is nothing but the form of the one God. ‘Ekaṃ sat viprā bahudhā vadanti.’
Recognise the oneness within the many
We turn this oneness into manyness and push this divinity away from us. No, no. We must try to recognise the oneness that is in all this manyness. We must not split oneness into manyness. This is only a narrowed feeling of God. Contraction of Love. But when we take the many as one, Expansion of Love.
