Passage 19

Tap any word for its meaning.

In plain words

Prayer is not something of an individual nature. Individualism is nothing but ruin. But the collective principle itself is our true individuality. The whole of society is one. We are each a member in society. What form does society have? It has no form. The members in society have form. So it is through these members alone that it has come to be called society. That is why we must pray for the sake of society. All of it: lokāsamastā sukhino bhavantu. Then, when all are happy, I too will be happy. So if you want to be truly happy, push your selfishness aside and think of the whole world with a collective spirit. Then everyone will be happy. So if we are to recognise divinity, we must purify our heart. Only when we purify it will the principle of the Paramātma become clear to us. It will be as if seen in a mirror.
