In plain words

So all these are only momentary. What we need is what is full of Ānanda and real. So where does Ānanda come from? This thing called happiness comes within reach of those who come to know everything. Happiness is union with GOD. This Ānanda is found only near such a God. This Ānanda is not something we can get in the outside world. No one at all can hand it to us. One has to develop it oneself, for oneself. To hope that somehow we shall get from someone this Ānanda which we must develop for ourselves: that itself is a great Ajñāna. The Buddha suffered a great deal over Ajñāna of this kind. He did ever so many kinds of sādhana. In the end He made a decision. He resolved to go to Buddha Gayā and there to bring forth the Ānanda of the inner feeling that was in Him. He went there and developed this Ānanda. No one is responsible for it. It is not something anyone gives. It is not something we fetch from anywhere. Forgetting the Ānanda that is simply within ourselves, we search through many regions. So the level of every man's heart is itself the true level of God. Holding that place securely, believing that place to be our birthplace, we must make a fitting effort to develop that heart. Buddhism gradually wavered only because it did not keep to the right course. “Saying one thing, doing another.” That is why all these religions, every one of them, gradually dwindled away. We must try to put into practice what is taught. We must put into practice the truth we have come to know. Only then shall we see the real truth. Today we do not bring what we have come to know into the experience of daily life. So today: “They may say a crore of things, but they do not do one.” That is why the world today keeps falling into so many kinds of hardship. We need not search for divinity. It shines constantly in the heart of every single one. That radiant divine light itself is divinity.
