In plain words
It is not somewhere in the outside world.
God is not in some separate land; God dwells in one's own body. Sin is not in some foreign land; it clings to the deeds one does.
Merit and sin alike lie contained in our own karmas; they are not things that come separately.
All Religions Have Taught Only Good
All religions together have taught only good; know this and move through life with discernment. If minds are good, what religion is bad? Listen, O valiant son of Bhārata!
Those today who say religion is bad must all realise that it is their own mind that is bad. So today we must make the mind pure. We must set the mind on the right path. We must set it in samyak dṛṣṭi. We must train it to mastery in samyak bhāva. We must practise samyak śravaṇa. We must sink deep into samyak bhāva. We must keep practising these samyak karmas. So what the Buddha taught were five karmas, just five. Samyak dṛṣṭi, samyak bhāva, samyak śravaṇa, samyak vāk, samyak karma. Only through these five do the five elements work properly. To make these five elements that God has given fulfil their purpose is itself true sādhana. But we misuse the understanding, the way, the standing and the wealth that God has given.
We keep developing all this kāma, krodha, lobha, moha, mada and matsarya. This kāma, krodha, lobha, moha, mada and matsarya, all of it, is not what God gave. They are things we have bred with our own food, drink and the like.
