In plain words
In this way we love with three kinds of feeling. These three kinds are good, all of them. But in the very end we must come to the truth that we two are one and the same. Bodies may differ, but the Ātma is one and the same. ‘Sat is one; the wise speak of it in many ways’: so the scriptures declare. We think of Vighneśvara's festival as something very ordinary. But the form of all the gods and the power of all the gods are all in Vighneśvara alone. If we celebrate the festival only today, there is no use. We must go on worshipping Him all the time. We must pray to God every moment. With this very thing in view, think: I am doing all karma to please God. We think we are doing it for the satisfaction of some object. That is very wrong. Whatever you do, you are doing it for your own satisfaction. That is all there is to it; it is not for the satisfaction of the object. No one is doing it for the object's satisfaction. You thought, “I must buy an apple and eat it.” Are you eating the apple for the apple's satisfaction? But you are eating the apple for your own satisfaction. I am going to the mandir now. You think you must put on a white dress. Are you putting on the white dress for the dress's sake? You are putting on the white dress for yourself. In the same way, every act you do, you do only for your own satisfaction, not for the satisfaction of some other thing. So whatever work you do, do your work with Prema for God. Prema for God brings everything to fulfilment. It gives victory to everything. Everything brings you health and Ānanda. Look on everything as nothing but God.
