Tap any word for its meaning.

In plain words

We will even have a marble statue of you put up.” In this way they held out every hope that could be held out for the future. At once the guru told the boy to rise, and the boy rose. “I heard what these people said. What you said is the supreme truth, Guruji,” he said.

No mother, no father, no kinsman, no brother; no wealth, no house: therefore beware, beware!

So he came to know.

Worldly Prema and Divine Prema

Parents have worldly Prema. But divine Prema no one has but God. I want Prema like this; I do not need the Prema of kin. In that way, in this world everyone does seem to love. But we cannot recognise which is Prema and which is not. Even so, parents do have Prema. We must make them happy. As far as possible we must try to satisfy them. But we must take care not to forget Prema for God. That alone is everlasting. That alone is true. That alone is eternal. Parents who love you today may die. God has no death. God is the one whose very form is immortality. Such a God we must love all the time. Along with that, love your parents. Love your kin and friends. Love everything. But we must love God in a way that never wavers. We must always develop that eternally true Prema. Such Prema is itself the form of God. Such Prema is itself the form of Gaṇapati. Such Prema is itself the form of Vighneśvara. Such Prema is itself the form of all. Your form too is the very form of God. Think of yourself as God. You do no wrong in it. In body you are only a man, but in the vision of the Ātma you are God Himself. Live with the feeling, ‘I am Brahman.’ Once Rāma called Hanumān and asked, “Hanumā! In what way do you worship Me?” “Swami! In the way of the body I am Your servant; to me You are the Lord. If I inquire with the understanding of the jīva, I am a part of You. But as the Ātma, we two are one and the same,” he said.
