Passage 10

In plain words

Any emperor, or any simple man, can attain divinity through the principle of Prema.

God Is the Witness

For so many days now you have been coming and going. In this hall all the lamps are burning. Some are listening. Some are wandering here and there. Some are dozing. Whatever anyone does, the light has nothing at all to do with it. It is a witness. The sun is shining. In this sunlight so many people go about so many tasks. However many tasks they do, they do not stand in the way of the sunlight at all. God comes to no harm whatever from the bad deeds you do. The good deeds you do bring God no joy. Both of these belong to the one who did them. God is full of light. To God, who is full of light, good and bad are no concern at all. This doership and enjoyership belong only to individuals. So the Divine is always only the witness. He remains the witness of everything. That itself is the conscience. We must keep this conscience close to us. That is why I said, ‘Follow the master, face the devil, fight to the end, finish the game.’ Follow the master. Who is your master? Your conscience is your master. Follow it, and face the devil, fight to the end. You must not give up midway at all. How far? Finish the game. You must fight until the game called your life comes to its end. But it is not a matter of being there only today and slipping away tomorrow. Life is long life. We must go on achieving in it, the right way. When we fill our hearts with Prema, we can achieve everything easily. We must teach our children the principle of Prema. We must not foster hatred toward anyone. Go on loving even the one who hates you. Then his heart too will change. This heart. Hṛt + daya = hṛdaya.
