In plain words
The heart is bound up with compassion. So man must have compassion. They said, ‘Mankind’. We must be filled with compassion. Today there is no compassion. People are filled with fashion. As long as they are in this fashion, where is there room for compassion? Our heart is only one chair. Single chair not double sofa not musical chair. We are turning our heart into a musical chair. One comes, one goes. When will it ever end? This is not the true game. They said, ‘Life is a game play it.’ What game is this? Single sofa. In it the heart must stay, always and for good. That heart alone you must never let go. However many hardships, however many losses, however many sorrows may come, you must see to it that you do not change your heart. Hardship and loss, happiness and sorrow, sin and merit are passing clouds that come and go. They only come and go. Its very name is jagat. Ja-gat. Coming and going, and nothing else. Nothing permanent is to be seen in this world, nothing at all. Permanent only God. All the rest are only things that change midway. Trusting these things that change, and forgetting what does not change, we fall into many hardships in our lives.
You Yourself Are God
Embodiments of Prema! Foster Prema for God. Why? Because you yourselves are the form of God. God is not separate from you. He dwells in you yourselves. Though He dwells in you yourselves, you keep Him at a distance. There is fire. Because we cannot put the fire to use, ash from the fire itself has covered it over. This ash came and covered the very fire. Where is the fire? It is right beneath it. If we blow this ash away, we see the fire. Right within us is the fire called divinity. It lies covered by the ash called worldly desire. When we blow away this ash called desires, divinity becomes visible to us. Sākṣātkāra does not mean going somewhere and fetching it. You need not do sādhanas. What you must do is drive Ajñāna away. You must drive avidyā away. Only when we drive this avidyā away does Jñāna arise in us.
