In plain words
However many machines there are in the world, all of them have indeed come into being through the body. The very mechanism in that machine is simply what has gone out from us. In the world they take a photo of everything with a camera. But do you see anyone who takes a photo of the mind with a camera? No one can take it. We can take our mind with the camera called our Buddhi. That too is right within us. We cannot come to know what is right within ourselves.
Embodiments of Prema! The Prema within us cannot be described as being like this or like that. However much you try to describe this Prema, it cannot be done. Describing it from outside is not enough. Having such a principle of Prema, we go fretting somewhere or other over the ways of the world. We want nothing of the ways of the world. The world is unstable.
Unstable is life in the world, unstable are youth and wealth; unstable are wife, sons and the rest; Satya and fame, the two, are stable.
Seek Ānanda Within Yourself
We must hold to these two, Satya and fame. Only when we live like that will we have held out a great ideal. Whatever the situation, the one thing you must never forget is the contemplation of God. Do not forget God. Do not trust the world. Do not fear death. We must understand these three well. However long you live, there is no escaping death, is there? Some time or other it will go. We must not be afraid of this; death is certain. We must not long for the world at all. But we must not forget the nature of our heart, Prema. If we take up that Prema alone, we can achieve anything. When students grow with feelings like these, they will experience happiness beyond measure. All of you long for a life of Śānti. Everyone longs for a life of Ānanda.
