We Must Develop Prema
Embodiments of Prema! Develop Prema. We must not bear hatred towards anyone at all. This hatred is very dangerous. If you speak any word out of hatred, it plants itself in your heart. To pull out what has been planted, you need so many astras and śastras. The words spoken with that Prema you must guard through Prema alone. Whoever has spoken wicked words to you, love them. The moment we love him, his very mind changes. The more we love him, the more the pains he caused go on lessening. Nowhere in the world are there medicines that heal this wound. When cutting words shoot arrows that lodge in our heart, we must ease the pain of those arrows with words of Prema. That is the very medicine; a medicine that gives such quick relief is not to be found anywhere else. Quick relief. That, through our Prema alone, for any illness at all, even a terrible illness. But where are terrible illnesses coming from today? All these are tension, psychological. For every man, whatever else he lacks, there is tension. I cannot understand why there is this tension. I cannot understand where they buy this tension from. If you tell Me where it is to be had, I too might buy some. But this tension is not to be had anywhere. He is creating it all by himself. This tension is killing man. Because of this tension, temper comes. When the two, tension and temper, come together, it ends in a fall. We bring in what is not in us. We pour away what is in us. There is water in the cup; milk is to be poured into it. To pour in milk, what must you do? You must pour this water away, and then put the milk in. In the same way, you must put away the wicked feelings within you. You must fill yourself with the feelings of Prema, called the good path and good conduct. You must empty the one. You must fill the other. Start the day with love, fill the day with love, spend the day with love, end the day with love.
