In plain words

He comes to the second house and gives another envelope. Everyone in the house weeps. He did not give anyone tears. It was the very matter in that letter that brought them to tears. God too is just like that. Binding by karma in the world of men. Do you see? When we follow Satya, Lakṣmī stays right with us. And jealousy brings sorrow. Jealousy is not something man should have. We must put it far away. Only then do we gain true Śānti. The more we practise, the more learning comes to us. Buddhi comes according to karma. Karma is bound up with resolves. If we do our deeds with sacred resolves, all is full of Ānanda. If we put a resolve together out of evil feelings, it brings us nothing but sorrow. You may have every strength, but if the strength of God is not there, what is the use? Far greater than every strength is the strength of God.

Strength of arm, strength of intellect, strength of body: with every strength but without the strength of God, one becomes a slave; what became in the end of one as great as Karṇa? Tell me yourselves, sirs; I shall agree.

Karṇa had every strength; he had strength of intellect. He had the strength of weapons. He had the strength of learning. Every strength was there, but the strength of God was not. At the very last he fell. Even with strength of body and strength of intellect, what is the use? There must be the strength of God. So we must long for divine Prema. If you gain divine Prema, every Prema comes to you. That is it: resolves must be sacred. When you live your life with these sacred resolves, you will attain the sacred Supreme Principle itself. But by the fruit of the merit of many births this sacred gain has come to you today. You must make good use of this sacred time. Only when you make good use of it will you reach a good end. When you misuse it, you will reach a bad end. Where is God? Wherever you look, He is there. I said it the other day. He is in the forest, He is in the mansion. He is on the road. He is in the stone. He is in play.
