In plain words
God is the embodiment of Time. He is the One who orders Time. That is just why we say: Salutation to Time, salutation to the Time of time, salutation to the Tamer of the pride of Time, salutation to Him who is beyond time, salutation to Him whose form is Time; all of it is His form as Time. So, Time is God. Don't waste time. Time waste is life waste. ‘Tad eva lagnam’: this is not a lagna someone has fixed. Whenever we decide to think of God, that itself is the lagna. That itself is the right lagna. Whatever the moment you remember Him with the thought of God, that itself is the good lagna. Within such sacred divinity, man goes on without making the effort. Man has every kind of advantage. He has a sacred Buddhi. He has a sacred citta. He has sacred feeling. He has sacred resolves. But even with all these, he cannot reach the right place. A firm resolve is needed. There is Garuḍa. He has his wings. If he makes the effort, Garuḍa travels several miles. But if he does not wish to, he cannot move forward even a single inch. There is a little ant. If it makes the effort, it travels a distance of miles. Whenever you look, it is still travelling. It is this that is recognised in the heart of God. Tyāgarāja said it. “O Rāma, You who bear the title of shining forth with overflowing Prema in the ant, in Brahmā, in Śiva, Keśava and the rest, protect me,” he said. You are in the ant, You are in Brahmā, You are in Śiva and Keśava; You are in all places. There is no place without You, no name that is not Yours. But man today, sunk in worldly delusions, shuts his eyes and bows down if Brahmā appears before him. If He comes as an ant and bites, he kills it on the spot. How is it that you kill the divinity that was in Brahmā and in the ant?
“For the wicked, one thing in the mind, another in speech, another in deed.”
We say God is everywhere. When He is in the ant, why this killing of the ant? When an ant that size bites a man this big, what pain is it to you? Can you not bear the pain of an ant's bite? Weak as you are, how can you achieve anything? No, no. Man today, in this modern age, is becoming terribly weak, day by day.
